Been Busy

I've Been Super Busy

I've been super busy. It's like I turned into an express salon, spreading my polish joy. All of them below are done by me, for real. I've been running around painting like crazy. Thanks for looking, hope you like. (:

Sorry guys, no tutorial for this one!  I didn't have time, unfortunately, so I just have pictures.  I painted on my favorite clear coat, then my Blue Away nail polish.  I then used a makeup sponge to apply then coral color.  (Expect that tutorial soon!)  After that, the details!  One thing I have to point out is the blue low lighting on the bottom of the clouds.  It for sure made it more realistic, and I would recommend taking that extra few minutes to paint that in.

Tribal Nails

Tribal Nails

I was real bored, so I sat down and did something real complicated.  I really liked it though, and it is not as hard as it looks.  I did it with my nail art brush, and I would also recommend a toothpick for the dots.  For the base coat I used a light brown/tan color.

What You Need

  • Base Polish
  • Toothpick
  • Black/White Nail Art Brush *Highly Recommended*

How To

  1. As always, paint your base coat!
  2. When it is dry, paint according to picture 2
  3. When dry paint picture 3

I do pinterest, and I love it.  I collect nail ideas there and teach you how to do one there.  Sometimes, when I am doing someone's nails, I pull up my pin board and let them choose a design they like.  Maybe I'll make a scrapbook of the nails that I've done.  Then, when I'm doing nails, I can show them all my nail art ideas.  Today I sat my sister down and did her nails.  She is sooo fidgety!  It's a real challenge, but I do out of love. <3

What You Need

  • Light pink or clear coat
  • Color of choice
  • Black nail art brush or black with toothpicks

How To

  1. Paint your nails with the clear/pink coat.  I opted for the pink because it looks nicer.
  2. Wait for it to dry and put on your tips with the color of choice.
  3. Here is where it gets hairy.  Make one large dot in the corner of your nail.
  4. Next paint four dots around the top of the large dot.

Funky French Manicure

Funky Frenchie

For this one I did my mom's nails.  I used light colors because that is what she liked, but you can always go for something brighter and more interesting.  I would use a light light  pink or a clear coat for the base, but you can always do anything you like.

What You Need

  • Two colors of your choice
  • Black or white nail art pen or toothpicks.

How To

  1. First you have to paint the nail with your base coat.
  2. Let that dry, then paint on your tips.  Do it at an angle so it looks real funky.  Start at the base of the nail to the left and swoop to the right at an angle.
  3. Paint the dots on by dipping toothpicks in the polish bottle.  Toothpicks are actually a great choice for this because it will make straight forward dots.

Popcorn Buckets!

Popcorn Buckets

Today I'm going to walk you through the popcorn bucket nails.  I only did one finger because I've done this before and want to do something different.  I really like this, and it is a lot simpler than you think.  Make sure you let your nails dry before painting them again because it will smudge and really ruin it.  In my opinion, it looks like a fancy frenchie.

What you Need

  • Red Polish
  • Yellow Polish
  • White Nail Art Polish (Toothpick works too.)

How-To

  1. Paint you nails red and let dry.
  2. Paint white strips on your nails, let dry.
  3. Put on yellow tips.

Easy Ombre Sparkles

I LOVE this!  So, I had done a frenchie mani, and got bored of it after three days.  Lucky me, this mani lasted a long time, so I tried a little something something.  It turned out great!  I love how this looks, and how easy it is to do. (:

What you Need:

  • Sparkly nail polish
  • Clear coat
How-To
  1. Coat your nail in the clear coat.
  2. When it dries, coat a little over 3/4 of the nail in a thin layer of nail polish.
  3. When that dries, coat 1/2 of your nail in a bit thicker amount of sparkles.
  4. When that dries, swipe your brush once across the bottom of your nail with a thick amount of polish.
Viola!  It looks so cute with my frenchie!  A good pointer for a little of 3/4 is to look at my tips.  Don't go over my tips. (:
